    हिन्दू धर्म विश्व का तीसरा सबसे बड़ा धर्म है। इसके 1.2 अरब अनुयायी हैं जो दुनियाभर की जनसंख्या का 15.5-16.7 प्रतिशत है। हिन्दू धर्म ज्ञात सभी धर्मों में सबसे पुराना धर्म है। हिन्दू धर्म के अनुयायी भारत के साथ-साथ दक्षिणी-पश्चिमी एशिया, इंडोनेशिया, कैरिबियाई देशों, उत्तरी अमेरिका, यूरोप, अफ्रीका और अन्य प्रदेशों में भी निवास करते हैं। "हिन्दू" शब्द की उत्पत्ति 550-420 ईसापूर्व "सिन्धु" नदी के नाम पर हुई थी। इसका वास्तविक नाम "सनातन धर्म" है। भारत का एक दूसरा नाम हिन्दुस्तान है जिसका अर्थ है "हिन्दुओं की भूमि"।
     हिन्दू धर्म अन्य धर्मों से भिन्न है। इसकी कई अद्वितीय विशेषताएं हैं। कई हिन्दुओं की पवित्र पुस्तकें हमें कई अत्यधिक प्रभावी औषधियों के बारे में बताती हैं जो कई बड़ी समस्याओं के समाधान में बहुत सहायक है। हिन्दू वें हैं जो कठिन परिश्रम अर्थात् 'कर्म' में  विश्वास करते हैं। हिन्दू लोग प्रत्येक सुबह शंख बजाते हैं जो कई रोगों से (जैसे- टीबी, अस्थमा, बीपी आदि) हमारी रक्षा करते है। शंख बजाने से हमारे आस-पास के वातावरण के जीवाणु व विषाणु मर जाते हैं क्योंकि यह बहुत भारी कम्पन उत्पन्न करता है।
     हिन्दू लोग प्रतिदिन चन्दन लगाते हैं, यह उनके मन एकाग्रता और शांति स्थापित करता है। मस्तिष्क की सभी नसें हमारे सिर में चोटी की जड़ों पर जाकर मिलती हैं इसलिए हिन्दू धर्म में चोटी रखने की परंपरा है, यह मुख्य रूप से एकाग्रता बढ़ाने का कार्य करती है।
हिन्दुओं में जमीन पर बैठकर भोजन करने की एक परंपरा है। इसका एक वैज्ञानिक कारण है। जब हम इस मुद्रा में बैठकर भोजन करते हैं तो हमारा शरीर आराम महसूस करता है और हमारा पेट तनावरहित(मुक्त) हो जाता है। अतः जो कुछ हम खाते हैं, हमारे पेट में सुगमता से गमन करता है।
हिन्दू धर्म के लोग ललित कला, संगीत, मूर्ति व शिल्प कला तथा कई अन्य कलाओं में विश्वास करते हैं। हिन्दू धर्म के लोग योगा, व्यायाम और मेडिटेशन (आत्मध्यान) में भी विश्वास करते हैं।मेडिटेशन हमारी तर्क शक्ति में सुधार लाता है और हमें शांत और प्रसन्न बनाता है।
हिन्दू धर्म के लोग प्रतिदिन पूजा करते हैं क्योंकि यह उनके मस्तिष्क में एकाग्रता और शांति प्रदान करता है और डर तथा असुरक्षा की भावना को कम करता है। हिन्दुओं में मनाये जाने वाले प्रत्येक त्योहार के कई महत्वपूर्ण रीति-रिवाज होते हैं जिनका अपना एक वैज्ञानिक कारण होता है। हिन्दू धर्म और उनकी पवित्र पुस्तकें सदैव हमें अहिंसा सिखाती हैं। उनका मानना है कि हमें प्रत्येक जीवित प्राणी के प्रति दया की भावना रखनी चाहिए और उन्हें मारना नहीं चाहिए, चाहे वह छोटेछोटे कीड़े-मकोड़े ही क्यों न हों।
       वास्तव में हिन्दू धर्म सबसे महान और मानव जीवन हेतु सबसे उपयुक्त धर्म है। गर्व करो यदि आप एक हिन्दू हैं।

   Hindus are the third largest religion of the world. It is followed by 1.2 billion people which is 15.5-16.7% of the population of the world. Hindu religion is the oldest religion of all known religions. Hindus are found in Southeast Asia,Indonesia, the Caribbean, North America, Europe, Africa, and other regions besides India. The name "Hindu" is originated before 550-420 BCE by the name of river "Sindhu". It's real name is "Sanatana Dharama". Hindustan is the second name of India which means 'The land of hindus'.
    Hindu is not a religion like others. It has many unique qualities. Holy books of hindus tells us about many very effective medicines which is very helpful to solve the greatest problems. Hindus are those who believe in hard work(Karma). Hindu blows shankha every morning which prevents the illness(As-TB, asthama, BP etc). Blowing shankha also kills bacteria in the environment because it makes very heavy vibration.
    Hindus apply sandal everyday, it keeps concentration and calm to their mind. All veins of brains meets in the root of tuft in the head so there is a tradition of keeping tuft in Hindu religion, it grows especially concentration.
   There is a tradition of eating food in hindus by sitting on the ground. It has a scientific reason. When we eat in this position, our body feels comfortable and our stomach feels free. So whatever we eat, goes very smoothly in our stomach.
    Hindus believe in fine art, music, sculpture and many other arts. Hindus also believe in yoga, exercise and meditation. Meditation improves our IQ level and also makes us calm and happy.
    Hindus worship everyday because it gives concentration and peace to their mind and reduces fear and insecurity. Every festival of hindus has a scientific reason. Hindus religions and their holy books always learn us non-violence. They believe that we should be kind to every creature and should not kill them, even a small insect.
     Really, hindu religion is the greatest and most suitable religion for a human life. Proud on yourself if you are a Hindu.
